Gardening Project
• Vegetable gardens were established with the assistance of ABI at Eikenhof and Malelane to provide in the
need of the Homes. At Eikenhof resources are available to commercially grow vegetables as well as a
market for selling to generate an income. Liaison is taking place to obtain professional assistance and training to make this a viable project. However start-up capital remains a challenge.
Bakery Project
• An Industrial oven sponsored by Rothschild has been purchased to bake bread. However funding is still needed for a dough mixer and pans to start this initiative.
Sewing Project
• Sewing machines were donated via Volker Schmidt and it can be utilised for training and sewing to generate funds. However funding is required to employ a seamstress to take care of the project until such time that the project is financially sustained.
• This needs to be expanded into a full abulstary training programme and income generating project
Beading Project
• A glass bead workshop will be established at AGCH Eikenhof. Children interested will be taught. The manufactured articles can be sold to the public to generate funds.
